Return from Cape York Peninsula

We have returned from the field trip as mentioned in the previous posting (below), where a great deal has been learnt.

A great many pictures and lots of information on new and interesting plants as well as old favourites will be shared on this website in the coming months.

A quick summary of the trip here is that there are remote areas of the Cape York Peninsula where new and unusual succulent plants still exist, some of which are new to science altogether.

There is information and reports from locals about a 'different-looking' Myrmecodia north of Weipa.

At present no known Myrmecodia species has been recorded on the west of the Cape and as so little of this area is accessible by road, this becomes very understandable.
